Professor Pat Chacha is the coordinator for The Medical
Laboratory Science Program at Centennial College, Scarborough.
She is an Ordained Minister and a Certified Pastoral Counselor.
She is a motivational speaker who believes that young people are
valuable and must be mentored to excel in all areas of life, locally
and globally.
In 2003 Pat founded Girls of Destiny, mentorship and personal
development program for girls 11 -16 years. Since 2003 Girls of
Destiny leadership, etiquette and personal development summer
camp , has help over 500 teen girls improve their self esteem thus
becoming “stars in the universe“.
She founded Destiny Light Scholarship Training Program to
prepare and teach students and parents how to win funds for post
secondary education. As a trained scholarship reviewer for The
Millennium Excellence Awards, The Top 20 Under 20 Scholarship
and other community scholarships, Pat uses her skills and
knowledge to mentor students on the “art of winning
scholarships”. Through her mentoring and coaching, students
have won up to $40, 0000 in scholarships. Pat has taught
scholarship workshops in high schools in the GTA and Peel.?
For the past 15 years, Pat has led and served in various
community educational and children projects involving high-risk
students, in particular, her involvement with Acorn to Oak
Community Services (A2O), an affiliate of Kingdom Covenant
Ministries.
Pat has been the guest speaker and workshop presenter for faith
based organizations such as, the Aga Khan Ismail Foundation and
various churches. Community service organizations such as
Brayburn youth centre, United Achievers, Congress of Black
Women, Mississauga Chapter, Brampton Neighbourhood Services,
Toronto Boys and Girls Club and others have benefited from Pat’s
passion to motivate and mentor youth.
Working with her husband Joel, together they founded Teamwork
Children’s Services International, a charitable organization to help
support orphaned and poor children in the rural communities in
Kenya, and Zambia, with education, vocational preparation,
medical needs and housing accommodation. Pat sees education
and training as the link to development and advancement for poor
and disadvantaged children. In 2009 Pat was nominated for
educator of the year by Zonta Women’s Club, Brampton Chapter.
