Assistant Director Aisha Chacha

Aisha Chacha is a professional makeup artist and creative director of Chacha Cosmetics located in Toronto, Canada. During high school, her artwork hung in the Mississauga City Hall for 4 years. As a makeup artist, she worked in various positions for well-known companies such as MAC, Clinique, Napoleon Perdis, Smashbox and Stilla Cosmetics. Aisha went on to do make-up for television shows including; City TV/Fashion Television show “Cosmetic Innovations”. She has appeared on Fashion Television and CTV News.

Since launching CHACHA COSMETICS, Aisha’s work has taken her to Miami Fashion Week, Toronto Fashion Week, the Toronto International Film Festival, Futureclaw Magazine, and at the Imago Zine Fashion Show. Her clients include Universal Records, Rogers Television, IB Concepts Magazine, and in 2010 Designer Baby Steinberg’s Toronto Fashion Week show.

Aisha enjoy giving back to the community and has been involved with organizations like  World Vision, Team Work Children’s Services (Africa) , Girls Rock Summer Camp and Toronto District School Board as guest Speaker.

Aisha has develops the make-up at Girls of Destiny camp and is passionate about helping the girls realize their inner beauty. Her goal is for all girls to leave the programs with a stronger sense of self-esteem and feeling beautiful from the inside out.

 

 

 

 

Other members of our executive team

  • Paula Brown assists with administration duties and coordinates the meals and snacks for camp.
  • Kayan Gilzene has been a member of the team for four years. Kayan and her husband owns Gilzene Accounting.
  • Sharon Wickham of Celeste design and ATAP productions has been with Girls of Destiny from the beginning of the program. Sharon created Dress like a Princess workshop and is an advocate for youth.
  • Glendora Blake of Gorgeous Bloom Floral and Interior Design.  Glendora coordinates floral design workshops at camp.
  • Sharon Whittaker has been with Girls of Destiny from the beginning of the program. Sharon teaches  tambourine and flagging dance workshops and is a restorative justice youth counselor.
  • Michelle Sutherland  is an educator, an author and poet. She wrote “I Am a Girl of Destiny” a self esteem building poem especially for the Girls of Destiny campers.
  • Yvonne Morrison is the owner of Timeless Designs, where she designs unique one of a kind jewelry. She also is a health living advocate. Yvonne assists with coordinating craft workshops at camp.
  • Sharon Johnson, owner of Pot Luck restaurant provides the delicious lunches that the campers enjoy.
  • Pollyanna Darryl is an educator who enjoys writing and proof reading. She coordinates the meals, and snacks for camp.
  • Marcelle Boyce assists with administrative duties.
  • Karlena Waugh a girl of destiny camp alumni, is the founder of   Mini K Creations, a mother-daughter duo specializing in event planning & management. She also created The Mix, a monthly space for individuals to connect, learn and build meaningful relationships. Karlena uses her skills to expand Girls of Destiny support network.
